Admit it, you love seeing these daily Christmas spotlights right? Is it getting you ready to decorate, or watch Hallmark, or READ? It is me!! Today I’ve got Cam on the blog, hero from Deb Kastner’s novella The Cowgirl’s Christmas Gift. Deb lives in Colorado, where she is blessed to spend extra time with her husband now that the next is empty (well, except for the pack of dogs–two of their own and often one or two “grand-puppies.” She has three grown daughters and two wonderful grandchildren whom she adores. Spoiling her grandchildren is her favorite hobby, but she also enjoys movies, music (The Texas Tenors!), singing in the church choir and exploring the Rocky Mountains on horseback. And her stories are always a hit!!
I’m not going to beat around the bush today, let’s get right into chatting with Cam!
Interview With Cam
Hi Cam. Can you tell me a little bit about yourself?
Um…I–I don’t really like talking about myself—or to other people, really. I don’t know what to say. <<shrugs>> I’m just a computer geek.
I can sometimes get uncomfortable talking to people too! You recently moved to Wyoming from the Silicon Valley. Can you tell me why you did that?
I don’t have to be near the company I work for. It’s all remote. I was just looking for someplace quite and out of the way. Unfortunately, I didn’t pay enough attention to what my realtor was doing and ended up living in a mansion that’s way too big for me. At least it’s out in the middle of nowhere.
And it’s quiet.
Well, it—it was quiet. But then my sister ended up in jail and I got custody of my two six-year-old nephews. They’re not—not quiet. But I love them.
That’s rough, but so courageous of you to help out! Christmas is coming. Any special plans?
Living alone for so many years, I’ve never really celebrated Christmas. When I was a kid, my dad left the family on Christmas eve and my sister and I had nothing in our stockings on Christmas morning. Kind of ruined the holiday for me, and I’ve never celebrated since. But the boys deserve to have the best Christmas ever. Fortunately for me, my next door neighbor, Maisey Gray, loves everything about Christmas and has promised to help me out. The only problem is, I get super tongue-tied around her and I become Geek-squared. She’s so pretty, and so nice, and sometimes I just blurt out whatever is in my head.
HAHA That must make for an interesting story. I’m sure readers will want to learn more.
<<Cam scrubs a hand through his hair>> Y-yeah. I think so.
Thanks for stopping by. I can tell this wasn’t easy for you, but I’m glad you’re here. Have a wonderful Christmas.
I—I’m sure I will. With Maisey’s help. And the twins. Maybe this year Christmas will take on a new meaning for me.
Oh, I have a feeling it will!!
