A Day in the Life of Mr. Miggles and a Giveaway!

It’s time for another Day in the Life post! Today I am pleased to introduce you to Mr. Miggles. But before we get to that, I want to tell you about his amazing owner, author Erin Unger.

Erin Unger was raised in the hills of Virginia, exploring abandoned houses and reading the scariest books she could find. After marrying so young it would make a great romance novel, she has enjoyed an exciting life with her hubby. But her fast-paced life sometimes rivals the suspense in her books thanks to all her mostly grown children and a couple grandkids. Her novel, Practicing Murder, releases March 29, 2019.

FYI she has an amazing tag line ………

Writer of Killer Romance

I love that!!!

Okay, now it’s time to meet Mr. Miggles!!!

A Day in the Life of Mr. Miggles

Hello dear subjects, I’m Mr. Miggles. King of the Unger household! I’m a Cotton-coated Persian cat. That just means I’m super soft with a luxurious coat of long hair—which my Mom shaved for the summer. Yuck! Everybody wants to pet me all the time. I won’t lie, it’s not my favorite past time. Can’t everyone just adore me from a distance? Well…sometimes a pet here and there is okay.

I’m not the typical late-night kind of guy like most cats. I actually look forward to going to sleep around ten. But there’s nothing as fun as waking my night owl mom early in the morning by laying on her chest and staring deeply into her sleeping mask. It works every time!

I consider myself a connoisseur of the bathroom. I mean, who doesn’t need a bathroom buddy when they’re getting ready? It’s the perfect time to give her my best blinky love stares. I can tell how much she appreciates my attention.

When we head to breakfast, I absolutely must bathe in my water fountain. Why would any cat not like water? It’s one of my favorite past times. And I know Mom enjoys how my splashing freshens up her floor.

Back upstairs, I start my first nap while Mom works on her stories.  Sometimes her pacing and typing wakes me but a good stretch is all I need to get back to napping. I’ve even heard her telling people she’s going to write a whole series about me someday. That’s no big surprise because I deserve to be on every one of her covers. But she tells me her current books aren’t about cats. She writes something called romantic suspense…whatever that is.

Then snack time draws me!

Back to nap.

Snack time!

Wow, there’s nothing like another nap after I lay on the treadmill and pretend to bat at my jingle ball which is just out of reach.

Snack time again!

Yawn. I need another nap. My subjects know how to wear me out with their adoration.

Dinner and dessert is the best. I get treats for showing how smart I am. I can beg, roll over, and jump on my stool—hardly only dog tricks—when given the right amount of yums.

When we head to bed, I wait until Mom is curled up with a good book to get my nightly cuddles. She’s great at scratching just the right spots and brushing my fabulous coat.

Well, good night my loyal subjects. But before you go, COMMENT BELOW on what your favorite animal is to be entered to win a $5.00 Amazon gift card. Your email address is needed to send the giveaway gift.

My favorite animal (which he would argue with cause he’s NO animal) has to be my sweet turning 14 in November furbaby, Snickerdoodle. He’s the love of our life! He manages to keep us on a schedule since he’s now on insulin twice a day which means his meals are regulated on a time schedule. He makes us detail oriented since we have to research every aspects of our vacations as to where he can go and were pets (he hates that word unless it means belly rubs) may stay because he’s never been left or boarded to which he lets us know he’s too old to change now. He manages to keep us upbeat and smiling because no matter how you are feeling.
Whether it’s the aches and pains or a sad movie, he can give you that “look” or give you a little kiss or just require all you attention and before long you just have to smile with your mind off of any problems from just a few minutes ago. I’ll gladly be his personal chef, belly rubber and his proud Momma for as long as they don’t need a special furbaby in heaven.

Mr. Miggles sounds like an awesome cat and very well loved as well. Long live Mr. Miggles!

    • Isn’t it interesting that pets can now get insulin shots?! Your Snickerdoodle sounds wonderful. Dogs are very good at making us live by a schedule. We recently adopted a senior terrier mix. She’s eleven. Mr. Miggles and her have…an understanding. Stay out of each other’s way and all is well. Hopefully soon he’ll become buds with her, though. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Kay!

My favorite type of animal is a horse. I’ve loved them ever since I can remember and think they are the most beautiful regal, and graceful creatures on the planet. I would love to have a horse of my own, but don’t live in a horse-friendly area.

My sister and I raced through the fields and adventured accross the countryside on horseback as kids. What a great way to grow up. But those are bygone years for me. I do very much admire horses to this day. They definitely are one if the most regal animals, Danielle!

    • Hi Florence! Cats are most wonderful. We’ve had many cats over the years. And I don’t think I could ever live without them.

I shelter elderly rescue cats. I have 12 at the moment. I also tend to some feral cat colonies. I love cats. You can see some of them on my Instagram / @stewartaudrey / My husband put them up.

Thanks, Lual! I don’t have a print copy yet. The book will be released March 29.

    • Thank you for taking care of shelter cats! We’ve had a lot of cats over the years and I can’t imagine my life without them. We’ve adopted a couple of older ones, too. They’ve been some of our favorites.

  5. My favorite animal is a dog. I had a horse in high school and I loved those riding days! Still, throughout my life, I have almost always had a dog. They are marvelous creatures with so much love to give away.

Even though I’m a cat person, I do really care about dogs too. They are much more ready to show you love. It’s nice to see you on here, Linda!!
