FROM THE BESTSELLING & AWARD WINNING AUTHOR OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE PROMISE AMISH SERIES. Addison Burke is a successful real estate agent who specializes in high-end closings and who enjoys an elite lifestyle not often afforded someone her age. But following a stroke and a recent fall, Addison is forced to hire a caregiver for her estranged mother, Lee Ann; a job Addison chooses not to take on, despite her financial freedom to do so. She hires an agency to fill the position, and to her surprise, they send a man for the job. Logan has somehow managed to keep his act together despite a past that is slowly catching up with him. If he can make enough money over the next couple of months by tending to Lee Ann Burke, he should be able to flee the country before his world comes crashing down around him. But when Lee Ann's beautiful daughter, Addison, begins to awaken feelings in him that he thought died long ago, he begins to question whether or not fleeing from the past is worth leaving Addison forever. Will Addison let down her guard for love and renew her relationship with her mother? Can Logan face his past, come out unscathed, and act on his feelings for Addison? And why is Lee Ann selling everything she owns on Ebay and Craig's List? Other books in the Surf's Up series: Message In A Bottle, The Shell Collector's Daughter, and Christmas by the Sea

my perspective

Beth has stepped out of the traditional Amish stories that we love to read and written this beautiful novella, and I am so glad that she did! The story left me longing for more time with the characters! Beth has done a fantastic job with this story and I hope she continues in this path.

Here we meet Addison, a busy professional woman who is trying to figure out a way to take care of her aging mother, someone she does not get along with too well. Enter Logan, a handsome man from Australia who is not just a caregiver, he’s a cook too. He agrees to help and the chemistry between them is obvious from the start. Addison checks in on her mother from time to time and can’t help but feel an attraction for Logan.

Logan isn’t the only one with an admirer. There is an older gentleman who walks very slowly past the house every day in hopes of catching a glimpse of Lee Ann, Addison’s mother. Little do they know that him and Logan actually know each other, and share a secret. Will Addison and Lee Ann find out? And what happens when Addison finds out the truth about her parents marriage? Will she and Lee Ann grow closer together, or will it tear them apart?

You will have to read it to find out and I highly suggest that you do! I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a favorable review.
