Welcome to the Celebrate Lit Spring Scavenger Hunt! As a part of this fun promotion, Celebrate Lit is featuring three wonderful collections – A Spring of Weddings, Let Love Spring, and Springs of Love. Today I am please to introduce author Jodie Wolfe, who’s novella is featured in Let Love Spring. This is a story that provides a strong heroine in Essie, and a hero that you instantly like in Jud.
About the Book
An Angel for the Cowboy (part of Let Love Spring: A Historical Spring Collection):
When the bank threatens foreclosure on Essie Love’s home, it’s up to her to provide for her sisters. She’ll do whatever it takes to save them, even if it means marrying a stranger.
Jud Steele is wanted for a crime he didn’t commit. Wounded and left for dead, he lands on Essie’s doorstep. While she nurses him back to health, he finds himself longing for a home and family.
Can two desperate people find a path that leads to what they both need?

When Life Knocks You Down
Have you ever been knocked down by life… or at least various struggles that come along? In my story, An Angel for the Cowboy, Essie Love has been hit with several trials back-to-back – the death of a loved one, a broken engagement, and the threat of foreclosure on the home she and her sisters have lived in all their lives. She’s unsure how to proceed and comes up with a plan to save the three of them, even if it means sacrificing her own happiness.
While I also faced multiple conflicts in 2017, they weren’t quite as weighty as what my character went through. 🙂 When the raging waves threaten to plunge me under the depths of the water, I cling to two sets of Bible verses:
Now this is what the Lord says—
the One who created you, Jacob,
and the One who formed you, Israel—
“Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; you are Mine.
I will be with you
when you pass through the waters,
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not overwhelm you.
You will not be scorched
when you walk through the fire,
and the flame will not burn you.
Isaiah 43:1-2 (HCSB)
Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (HCSB)
Jesus is the one I can depend upon to uphold me when life beats at my door and squeezes under the crack. I can trust Him to be there beside me, carrying me as needed.
What life struggles are you facing today, and how can I be praying for you?
