My Perspective

Faith and Lettering Journal

Well I have been a fan of Krystal Whitten’s for some time now, so I was grinning from ear to ear when I saw she had this journal coming out. I am not great at writing fancy, at all. This journal provides step by step ways to help you learn to write like all those fancy bible journaling people do! There is plenty of room for practice, letter by letter and with different writing styles. But what I appreciate even more is that Whitten takes is a step further. She also shows some examples of how to write out some inspirational quotes with some design to them, and allows you space to practice. This is a journal that I will use and reuse for years to come. After seeing Whitten’s work for a long time, I’m happy to see it in a way I can try it out myself!

The Illustrated Word

This book was so interesting to me, seeing pictures that are from years and years ago! Many of the pictures I was not familiar with but that’s okay. It actually inspired me to do some research on them. I love the fact that the coloring pages are left for us to interpret. If we want to change the color scheme, we can! If we want to leave it the same, that’s okay too. It reminds me of an adult coloring book – something I love to do during some down times.

Illuminate Your Story

This book is taking lettering to the next level. All the types of lettering in this book were so beautiful and creative. The book shows your literal step by step instructions on making the design, and I found it easy to trace the design for practice. Now, I may not feel like I have the ability to write beautifully like this, but I have to admit that after doing a couple from this book, I think I’m making progress 🙂 The bible verses and inspirational quotes were just right at the top of the pages, to provide encouragement and peace. This is a fun way to enhance bible journaling.
