Faith by Lyn Cote

Overall I enjoyed reading this book, it just took me longer than most. I found myself struggling through the fighting scenes, I think mostly because I do not care for war in general. However, I loved the story of Faith and Honoree. Both treated as outcasts by many even though they were trained nurses there to help.
Faith was my favorite character. Her reliance on the Lord for help was apparent right from the start and her faith never wavered. She treated everyone equally, whether they were white, black, union or rebel. Her main job was to nurse soldiers back to health, and she didn’t have a problem helping anyone. Her kindness spoke to me throughout the story. We should all strive to be a little bit more like her.
I also enjoyed the storyline of looking for Shiloh. I found myself hoping they would find her each time they got a clue. I won’t spoil anything, but was sad that a conclusion to this storyline didn’t happen sooner.
I recommend this book for those who like historical, war based fiction. The author wrote well, and I would read another if it had a different setting.
I received a free copy of this book from Tyndale House Publisher in exchange for an honest review which I have given.
