About the Book

When Aurora Daniels becomes the target of someone seeking their own twisted justice, Sheriff Beckett Marsh is the only one who can rescue her. As a public defender, Aurora has angered plenty of people in town and in her past. And while Beckett constantly clashes with the feisty lawyer professionally, it’s his duty to protect and serve. Guarding her 24/7 is now his sole assignment. He may not have been able to save his fiancée from a dangerous felon, but he’ll do whatever it takes to keep Aurora alive. Even if working with her to catch and convict this ruthless killer puts his heart in the crosshairs.

My Perspective

This book will have you hanging on the edge of your seat! It was full of suspense, mystery, nail-biting moments, and a good looking lead male!! Or, at least, in my mind he was 🙂 . The bank and forth between Aurora and Beckett is hysterical. And I don’t necessarily mean tee-hee funny. In the midst of the darkness surrounding Aurora, they could still butt heads and push each other. They got under each other’s skin like it was no one’s business. I loved it! It was the perfect way to compliment such a thrilling story.

There were a few surprises and twists and turns that I enjoyed. Just another way this fabulous author was able to keep me on my toes. What was great to read was how Aurora’s character didn’t back down. She didn’t fold under pressure or turn into a damsel in distress. I found her spunk and determination to be actually very charming to read.

And lastly, Jessica Patch weaves in inspiration at just the right times throughout the book. I loved the scenes when Beckett’s mother talked about the Lord. It was so real, so natural. It reminded me of someone in my church which put a smile on my face. This was one of my favorite parts of the book. A great reminder that even in times is distress, we can still trust in the Lord.

I am honored to have received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
