First Line Friday!

Happy Friday everyone!! Today’s first line comes from an Amish book I am currently reading called Naomi’s Hope by Jan Drexler. I’ve been reading this book all week, and I have to tell you that it’s made me very thankful for the minister I have at my church. I know, it sounds odd that an Amish book would do that. I don’t want to give away too much, but there is a character in this book named Shem Fischer. He recently moved to the community claiming he was a minister from the town he left. But he seems so shady, and his motives unpure. And in 1846, which is when this book took place, it is even more unsettling to me. Anyway, it made me think of how fortunate I am to have a pastor that is so loving, so kind, and truly a man of God. You never have to wonder if he has an ulterior motive, because he never does. He’s just an all around good guy that I am so blessed to have in my life. Funny how books can make you realize things about your own life from time to time!
