First Line Friday – Her Place in Time

Hi friends! Welcome to another addition of First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books! I’ve been working hard at catching up on reviews this week, and even trying to get ahead. I recently read a new book by Stephenia McGee, which is totally different then what I am used to reading by her. Let me tell you right here, right now – I LOVED it! I wanted to be the main character – who wouldn’t want to time travel back to historic time? My family and I watch the show Timeless (please don’t cancel it!!) and I cannot tell you how many episodes I wished I was there with Lucy, Wyatt and Rufus. Well, this book sort of allowed me to do something similar, in my mind at least 🙂 Stop back tomorrow for an interview with Stephenia, and on Tuesday I’ll be posting my review of this gem!

If only leaving her problems behind were as simple as leaving town.

**sigh** I can’t even express how much I enjoy reading historic novels. Over the past year it has become my top genre of choice. Have you read any great historic novels lately?

Now it’s your turn to share your first line! Grab the book nearest to you and share the first line in the comments. Don’t forget  to check out what everyone else is reading at Hoarding Books!

  1. Happy Friday!?

My FLF comes from a book I will be reading soon, My Heart Belongs in Niagra Falls New York by Amanda Barratt.

As the coachman loaded her trunk onto the carriage, nausea churned in Adele’s stomach.

Have a great weekend and happy reading!?

  2. “Bonjour, Mimi!” Heather Holmes, a lanky blonde in her forties with huge, wide eyes and long, curly tresses, breezed into Bistro Rousseau. She screeched to a halt. “Whoa!”
“A DEADLY ÉCLAIR” by Daryl Wood Gerber

  3. This book looks soo good! I’ve seen several people posting about it this week! It’s on my TBR 🙂
The book I’m sharing on my blog this week is Unblemished by Sara Ella but it’s also the book I’m currently reading so I’ll share the first line from chapter 4 here: “The expression on El’s face before the wall closed was all the proof I required.” Hope you have a happy Memorial Day weekend! 🙂

  4. I love that cover! The dress, the clock in the background, the way she’s looking off to the side …

My blog post today is sharing the first line from Solo Tu by Narelle Atkins. It’s book #7 in the Tuscan Legacy series, and is set in Australia. I’m currently reading another beach book – Sanover Beach Memories by Emma St. Clair. Here’s the first line:

“They had both been grounded for a week when Jenna’s father found the initials she and Steve carved into the birch tree.”

    Happy Memorial Day weekend!
