I don’t know what your week as been like, but mine has been filled with snow, snow and more snow. Did I mention I’ve seen a lot of snow? Over three feet to be exact. It took my husband and I a full day and part of another day to become unburied. Not exactly what I call fun. And I was a pretty hurting puppy afterwards. So I’ve decided that I don’t care if it snows for the next two years. I’ve seen enough!
That being said, you know what’s great about being laid up because you are hurt from all the shoveling, and snowblowing, and shoveling? You get to read!! I think that’s why we got as much snow as we did. So I could take the time to read. Over the past year I have really grown to love historical fiction. I think it’s because I ignored history when I was in school (boring teachers equals no interest on my part). So now I am kind of in love with reading it. Maybe I should thank them??
This week my first line comes from an Amish author that I love. I know what you’re thinking. Did she just say she likes historical reads and now she’s talking about an Amish author? Yep. I did. For those of you who don’t know Shelley Shepard Gray started a historical series called A Lone Star Hero Series. I read the first book, The Loyal Heart, last year and loved it. I was so excited when I saw the second book was coming out!! So, this week’s first line is from the latest in this series, An Uncommon Protector. It’s a good one!!
And now it’s time……. (enter drumroll)
This weeks first line from
