Hello my reader friends! Welcome to another First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books!
I’ve been quiet this week. We celebrated the birth of our Savior with church and family. It was truly a great celebration, but of course it went by too quickly. I’m on vacation from work this week, so I’ve been focusing my time on family instead of blogging. Of course, I envisioned all this time for reading this week. Ha! My daughter has read more then me, which is very unusual. She’s read three books to my partial one. But that’s okay, I encourage her to read, and I was doing other things around the house that needed to be done.
But as my vacation draws to a close, so does 2017. It’s time to get back into the game and start reading. And working on the blog and all I’d like to do in 2018. Read of course, but I think you might see some changes around here, Lord willing. I hope you’ll join me for the journey 🙂
Okay, back to today’s topic. First Line Friday. Today’s first line comes from a new Julie Klassen book, The Ladies of Ivy Cottage. The cover is what first grabbed my attention. I love historic covers! Okay, enough chit chatter. Here’s the first line……
Rachel Ashford wanted to throw up her hands. Her private education by governess had not prepared her for this.
Prepared her for what you say? Well, you’ll just have to read and find out. Ha!
And now it’s your turn to share your first line! Grab the book nearest to you and share the first line in the comments. Don’t forget to check out what everyone else is reading at Hoarding Books!
