His Encouragement -Jeremiah 29:11

Hello! Has your week been as difficult as mine? I won’t go into too much detail, but if you could pray for me friends I would really appreciate it. I have some new health issues that has come to light, and I find myself scared, worried, and struggling to get these fears out of my head. Thank goodness we have God’s word to rely on. Even as my flesh struggles, God promises that He has a plan, a plan that will keep me safe and protected. I just need to keep His word in my heart, and feel the comfort only God can give. The following verse keeps coming to mind…..

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Jeremiah 29:11

And while I don’t usually look away from my KJV bible, I do like the NIV version of this verse.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

One of my favorite authors, Karen Kingsbury uses this verse a lot in her books, and I love it. It’s always at a time where a character is going through something difficult and needs a reminder that God is with them. I think I’m just going to tuck this verse inside my pocket (aka my heart) and bring it out when those nasty thoughts come to light. I hope you can do the same friends!

Now it’s time for you to get some more encouragement from my friends! Please stop by and see what they have to encourage you with today. Happy Thursday friends!

  1. I honed in on your word, “fear.” I hate fear. I battle it constantly. I love the verse you chose. It’s one of the verses I repeat in my head. Jessica, God is right there next to you walking with you through this moment. He’s got you!!! But, I do promise to pray hard for you! I will pray for God to surround you with His comfort, peace, and security.

Thank you, that means so much! Knowing how hard it can be to go through something WITH God, I just don’t know how people with no hope get by. When they have fear, who calms it? I’m so glad to have God by my side, and yours!
