His Encouragement – Strength

There are songs everywhere in the bible. This week I came across a verse that immediately got my heart singing. It’s a song on one of my kids worship CD’s, that I haven’t listened to in forever (my daughter is 15 and tells me it’s not cool for a grown woman to listen to a kids cd). As I’m looking at this verse, and singing the song, I realized. These songs aren’t just for kids. They apply to us too as adults, so just let you heart sing out and worship the Lord!

What verse might you ask? No, it’s not Thy Word….. It’s from Psalm 46.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1

Whenever we are in trouble we can rely on the Lord, no matter what age and no matter what the trouble. This is a verse we should think of every day. I think I’d like to make it into a plaque to put on my wall. Then the reminder is always there, staring me in the face!

What verse has been on your mind this week? I hope you’ll share it. Be sure to stop by these blogs to see what verse has inspired them this week too!

  1. I love the verse you chose for today! I often go back to it to remind me I am not alone in this world. God is my strength. I don’t need anything else. Happy Thursday!

  2. That just makes me feel loved and secure. God is bigger than anything life throws at us! Thanks Jessica!

  3. Isaiah 43: 1-3: But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
3 For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.”
This was a verse the Lord put in my spirit when I used to worry a lot wondering about my life and where I was heading. It was the first one that came to me when my nephew was in jail for months and started to feel depressed and abandoned. To this day it always makes me feel how special I am to him and fills me with so much of His love. I use it to encourage others alot.
