Hello my friends! I have a question to ask you. Do you ever feel like the world is against you? I do. Every. Single. Day. It seems like no matter what I do, how I act, or treat others, there are things that happen to discourage me. This week I heard about a young boy who was singled out by parents for doing something he clearly didn’t do. PARENTS. I mean, what is this world coming to? I won’t go into the whole story, but basically they made this sweet little boy really upset, when there was truly no reason for it at all. As I pondered the situation even further, I thought to myself wow. Our society has gotten so bad that instead of making other adults feel worthless and horrible, we now have to make kids feel that way? For what? To make ourselves feel better? (And by “us” and “we” I certainly am not implying you or myself. Just society as a whole.)
As Christians, how are we to respond to this? Anger of course, retaliation and spite. I’m sure that’s what the bible says, right? No? It doesn’t? Well of course not. But those are usually the first thoughts that come in my mind. What the bible does tell us is that we are going to have problems in the world. We’re not just wrestling our own flesh, we’re wrestling the world, and the only way to protect ourselves is to put on our armour of God.
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
It is not an easy thing to do friends. Not at all. But the good news is that God does not want us to go through any of this alone. He is there for us. He will protect us. And at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what others think about us. It matters what God thinks. So when you are feeling alone and discouraged in this world, take heart in knowing you are not alone. God is with you, acting as your shield and sword in this battle with the world. After all, He never promised our road was going to be easy. In fact, I think He asked us to carry our cross. That means we’ll have troubles, people will mock us or make us feel bad. When that happens, let the Almighty God cheer you up. He loves it when we go to Him for comfort.
Now it’s time for you to get some more encouragement from my friends! Please stop by and see what they have to encourage you with today. Happy Thursday friends!
