His Encouragement – Worship

Welcome to another Thursday friends! Today I am going to share with you some of the things I talked about in our youth group this week about Worship. Worship comes in so many different forms, and before I started the lesson I asked my kids if they could tell me some ways. They’re pretty smart and named several of them immediately. Then we read Psalm 100 together.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

The Lord wants us to praise and worship Him, not just come to Him with our requests, and that was the message I was trying to get across to the kids. We don’t need to be in church, or even a group setting to worship either. I worship the Lord every day in my car by listening to Christian music. And yes, I do sing out loud – I just can’t help myself! Singing is my favorite form of worship. Not only is the music great, but I find that I can connect with so many different songs at different times of my life. Music lifts my spirits, it reminds me of how good God is to me, and it makes me feel good when I’m singing. I cannot sing without smiling. Well, correction – when I’m in church singing a solo, I have a straight face because I’m nervous and concentrating. But other than that I am smiling. Why? Because I am joyful. I could have the most rotten mood ever, and start playing a Christian song or hymn and my whole demeanor changes. As much as listening and singing is a form of worship for me, it is also a tremendous help.
What about you? What is your favorite form of worship? Singing? Praying? Serving? Something else? Please share in the comments along with a verse that has touched your heart this week. And don’t forget to see what my friends are sharing this week! Have a blessed day friends 🙂

  1. Singing praise songs and hymns are my favorite way of worship also!! And you are correct, nothing changes your outlook faster than singing along with a praise song!

  2. I worship the Lord by listening to praise music or audio devotionals.
Hubby & I read devotionals most mornings before he goes to work.
