Christmas Murder Mix-Up

“I have to get rid of her now.”

After four months of a blissful marriage, Paige is devastated to overhear her husband, Cooper, say those words to his best friend. Because of a suspicious Christmas gift, a gas leak, and a home invasion, Paige’s love for Cooper is tested to the limit. Will their marriage survive the Christmas Murder Mix-up?

Holiday Pursuit
When Brianna Rockwell’s brother finds himself in danger and disappears three days before Christmas, she does everything to rescue him. Brianna dodges bullets, escapes fire, and even turns to her longtime crush for help. But the closer she gets to solving the mystery and finding her only sibling, the more desperate someone gets to silence her forever…

Kelsey Jordan prefers upcycling junk and refinishing antiques for her store in a Georgia mountains town to being the center of attention. When a robbery and an unknown benefactor shove her in the middle of a decades-old mystery, and a real estate developer and a former baseball star compete for her attention, Kelsey isn’t sure who to trust.

My Perspective

I want to start off by saying thank you to these authors. Thank you for doing something out of the norm – a suspenseful Christmas collection. In a day where everyone wants the Hallmark Christmas story (I am one of these people, I love Hallmark stories!), it is very refreshing and exciting to have something different and suspenseful! I have read and enjoyed stories by each of these lovely authors, so I knew I was in for a treat already!

I really cannot pick out a favorite as I enjoyed them all. In each story I found myself in the middle of a great Christmas mystery. The great thing about novellas? They move fast! So you get to find out the answers pretty quickly. With the first story Christmas Murder Mix-Up, I was immediately hooked on the into to the summary. The entire time I was like, wow, what if I overheard my husband say that? I’m not sure what I would have done. And while the story was a test of love and trust in a marriage, it was also a test between trusting your friends. Sometimes people aren’t always as they seem, and desperate times call for desperate measures. I was as shocked as Cooper was, not necessarily when he found out about a friend of his, but the why behind it.

In Holiday Pursuit, at times I kind of pretended I was Briana. I mean, look at everything she went through to find her brother? I’d like to think that I would do the same thing if my brother were missing, and so I had my adventure through her character! It was fast paced, fun, and had me on the edge of my seat!

In the last story, A Holiday Intruder, it was all sorts of fun and excitement. But I think the setting is what really had me. I’d love to visit the Georgia Mountains, and perhaps see some of the work that Kelsey has done! This story was just as exciting as the rest, and I found myself reading until I got the end as I did not want to put this set of stories down!

Again, these aren’t your Hallmark stories. However, I think you’ll find that suspense and mystery can be just as fun around the holidays as they can anytime of year! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
