My Big Book of Bible Heroes Devotional Review

Today I am excited to feature a book that gets kids excited about the bible! Actually, let’s face it, I got excited too. Who doesn’t like to read about heroes and how they stood up to adversity, showed bravery, and most importantly – stand up for God!

This fully illustrated devotional explores the heroic characteristics of 50 Bible characters—including Joshua, David, Daniel, Ruth, Mary, and more. Each engaging reading features a full-color illustration followed by “where to find it in the Bible,” a relevant devotion for kids (ages 7 and up), plus a short prayer starter to encourage kids  to talk with their Creator, and “Becoming a Hero” questions to get kids thinking about the Bible and how faith can be integrated into their daily lives.

My Perspective

This is a fun way to present bible stories to your children. The pictures are bright and vivid, the chapters are full of excitement and bravery, and even include a prayer that is easy for your child to follow. Then there are follow up questions to not only engage your child about the story, but to get them thinking.

I used this book as a tool with my youth group class. We made sure to read our story in the bible, but used the book as a way to summarize and put it into a different perspective. The kids (and I) really enjoyed it and look forward to using it throughout the year.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
