Spring Into Reading With Molly

Hello reader friends! Welcome to my Spring Into Reading Event! Every day this month I’m going to feature a new release (or will be released) book for you to add to your TBR. There will be guest posts, giveaways, book excerpts, and more! So make sure you come back daily and see what book is in the spotlight next!

Today I am featuring one of my favorite people – Sarah Monzon. Seriously, she is so sweet, so funny, and writes the BEST stories! Molly will be released July 2, but I highly recommend preordering it so it’s ready that morning for you to read! And Sarah has generously offered to giveaway an ebook to one lucky reader!! Before I share Molly’s spotlight, here’s more about the book!

Molly: A Sweet Romantic Comedy (Sewing in SoCal Book 1) by [Sarah Monzon]

If there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s that I absolutely refuse to tell a lie no matter the consequences. So don’t ask me a direct question unless you’re prepared for a direct answer—that’s something my SoCal sewing girlfriends have learned the hard way.
But who would have thought my honesty policy would get me fired from my job at the preschool? Or that a desperate—and not to mention devastatingly handsome—single father of one of my (now-former) students would hire me that same day as a nanny for his daughter?

I’m an education professional. How hard can taking care of a four-year-old and her over-stressed, over-worked father be?

As a Navy brat, I can call both nowhere and everywhere my home. Unlike some other kids with active duty parents, instead of being distant and aloof to save myself the heartache of separation, I’ve learned to make friends quickly and to develop relationships that are deep and everlasting. Maybe that’s why I’ve gathered about me a group of girlfriends who are more like sisters than anything else.  We do life together—with a lot of laughter thrown in!

Other parts of my character have been affected because of my transient upbringing as well. Namely, I never, under any circumstances, will tell a lie. That’s right. Not even a teeny tiny fib. I don’t see what the problem is, but some people think my honesty policy is a bit extreme. It’s even gotten me fired from my job as a preschool teacher’s aide! I know, I couldn’t believe it either.

But things have a way of working themselves out and now I’m helping a single dad watch his four-year-old daughter. I’m around kids her age every day so I’m sure I’m equipped to handle anything that may come up.

Other things you might be interested to know about me…. Hmmm… Let’s see. Oh! My favorite food is Mexican. Legit Mexican. I’m talking street vendor elote and ice-cold horchata. Yum! I also have a secret love of children’s books. I’ve been collecting them for a while for my future classroom, but I still pick up a picture book to read for myself on a regular basis. Mo Willems is a genius.

Well, I guess that’s about it. I can’t think of much else you might want to know about me, but if you have any questions, I’d be happy to answer them.

    1. Hi! This is Molly, using Sarah’s account ( *wink*) and I’m just finishing up my elementary education degree. I’d love to teach kindergarten or first grade. I love those little ones!

  1. Can’t wait to read this! Hi Molly, I was just wondering if you have any entertaining stories for us about helping out with the four year old girl. Kids sometimes do the craziest things!

    1. Oh, man, can I tell you some stories! Just a precautionary note, maybe not let preschoolers push carts at grocery stores… 😬
