The Blind Spot Review

If you are even considering reading a suspense novel, I highly encourage you to give this series a shot. They are so well written and the characters are great. You’ll be hooked by the end of the first chapter of book one! I was so excited to finally read the latest installment, and then so sad when it was all over. It’s kind of like Christmas. You are so excited about giving all the presents to your loved ones, and then it’s over in like five minutes and you are left sitting there, taking it all in.

About the Book

FBI agent Declan Grey is in the chase of his life–but isn’t sure exactly what he’s chasing after. Threatened by a terrorist that “the wrath is coming,” Grey fears something horrible is about to be unleashed on American soil. When his investigation leads him to a closed immigrant community, he turns to Tanner Shaw to help him. She’s sought justice for refugees and the hurting around the world, and if there’s anyone who can help him, it’s Tanner.

Tanner Shaw has joined the FBI as a crisis counselor . . . meaning she now has more opportunity to butt heads with Declan. But that tension also includes a spark she can’t deny, and she’s pretty sure Declan feels the same. But before anything can develop between them, they discover evidence of a terror cell–and soon are in a race against the clock to stop the coming “wrath” that could cost thousands their lives.

My Perspective

Sigh. Why did this book have to end? Oh my goodness, I just did not want these characters to go away. I will say this, not only was I sad at the end, I yelled at the book. Loudly. The good news, there is more to come! The bad news, I have to wait until the next book comes out to find out what happens next for these characters! I’m not sure I can take the suspense……

As for this book, which is what we’re supposed to concentrate on right now, it was wonderful. Dani Pettrey is a pro at writing suspenseful novels that will have you sitting on pins and needles as you turn each and every page. She also happens to be a pro at writing some pretty swoon worthy leading men. I think Declan is my new favorite in this series. I mean, I don’t think a lot of women would complain about being on an assignment with him! But let’s be honest. Tanner is so loveable, that you then have a little pang of guilt over your considering Declan of being a book boyfriend.

My favorite part of the book however, was finding out more about Luke’s disappearance. I won’t post spoilers, you’ll need to read it for yourselves, but I will say that it answers a lot of questions. In fact, it kind of makes him go back up the chain on the swoon worthy meter. I was so excited to see that his story was a part of this book, in a big way. I hope we see more of this in the next book.

Overall this book is a winner. Just be sure to carve out lots of reading time, because I guarantee that you will not want to stop reading it once you start. And be prepared for the ending. Savor each word, knowing that the end is just around the corner and it’ll be time to say goodbye. At least until the next installment!
