About the Book

A leather-bound journal. A single father. A woman in pursuit of freedom.

Garner Bradford, heir to the troubled Bradford Shipping empire, doesn’t know much about babies. But he’s going to have to learn fast because he’s just become a single father to his newborn daughter. As he confesses through his journal entries, he’s not entirely sure how to keep a newborn alive, whether or not he’ll ever patch together his shattered heart, or how to forgive himself for his mistakes.

Career girl Kathleen Burke is wholly uninterested in settling down. She has big dreams, and none of them include Garner and his small hometown in Washington State. Yet she can’t seem to get her handsome boss out of her head or her heart. There’s something extraordinarily tempting about his beautifully sad green eyes. . . .

Told through journal entries, phone conversations, and letters, Then Came You is a unique, heart-stirring romance novella by acclaimed author Becky Wade.

My Perspective

Phew, this novella was fantastic. Read it all at once, as my fingers just wouldn’t let go. I thought the letters, journal entries and phone messages way of telling the story was so different, yet perfect for this story. It gave it more pizazz, and really worked. It was such a sweet romance really, once you passed all the turmoil. But it was more than that too.

Garner had to let go of the past and grow before he could begin a new relationship, and that for me was the best part of the story. Seeing him react to the unfortunate events of his life and trying to move on from them. And in the short amount of time that this novella offers, you see great things from Garner. And yes, some swoon worthy moments. But here’s the important message – we are human. We make mistakes. And before we can move forward in our lives we need to remember the deal with those things!

I am so excited to see what is in store for this new series!! And I’m glad that this novella was released first so we get a glimpse of the back story before the real stories begin!

About the Author

During her childhood in California, Becky frequently produced homemade plays starring her sisters, friends, and cousins. These plays almost always featured a heroine, a prince, and a love story with a happy ending. She’s been a fan of all things romantic ever since.

Becky and her husband lived overseas in the Caribbean and Australia before settling in Dallas, Texas. It was during her years abroad that Becky’s passion for reading turned into a passion for writing. She published three historical romances with Avon Books, then put her career on hold for several years to care for her kids, then recently returned to writing sheerly for the love of it. She felt led to move to the genre of contemporary Christian romance and couldn’t be more thrilled with it.

These days Becky can be found failing but trying to keep up with her housework, sweating at the gym, carting her kids around town, playing tennis, hunched over her computer, eating chocolate, or collapsed on the sofa watching TV with her husband.

Do you like novellas like this that take place before a series begin? Which one is your favorite?
