Traces of Guilt by Dee Henderson

I truly enjoyed reading this exciting mystery! When I first started reading the story I was worried that it would concentrate too much on the relationships and possible romantic stories, but it did not. While it touched slightly on them, the true focus of the storyline was the cold cases the team was working on. I applaud the author in how this was handled. It was just the right amount of reference to romance to keep me wondering about the couples, but without taking my mind on the cases and how I could solve them.

The thing I most appreciated about this story was that I felt it was not predictable. I thought I had the cases figured out from the get go, and was surprised when new twists would come in and make me rethink. It was refreshing to read a book that I didn’t know the ending ahead of time! It made me have to go back, regroup and rethink the outcome. I felt as if I was solving the case right there with Evie and Gabriel.
I look forward to future stories about Evie and the cold cases she gets to work on. I’d like to give it four and a half stars 🙂
I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers in exchange for my honest review which I have given.
