First Line Friday – Eternity Between Us

Happy Friday friends! Welcome to another addition of First Line Friday hosted by Hoarding Books! Today I’m excited to share with you the first line from Stephenia McGee’s new book, Eternity Between Us. Stephenia is hosting a giveaway as part of a blog tour too – more details on that later. For now, let’s get to this wonderful book! I have been anxious to dig my claws into it. The cover is beautiful, and I love Stephenia’s writing. I think the Civil War might be one of my favorite time periods to read about. Today anyways 😉

They were here.

Evelyn Mapleton gathered her courage and stood at the parlor window to listen.

Happy Friday! My first line is from A Time to Love by Marion Ueckermann:

“You can do this. You’ve done it a thousand times before.”

  2. Happy Friday!

My first lines come from Killer Classics by Kym Roberts……

“Sugar did it.” Sugar’s mouth dropped open, and her eyes nearly popped out of her head at Reba Sue’s accusation. “Sugar didn’t kill anyone,” Leila argued. “The woman traps scorpions at the bar and releases them outside.” Leila shuddered, her round body jiggling from head to toe. “Stupid critters belong under a boot heel.”

Have an awesome weekend and happy reading!???

    Prologue
Jason Huyard had to be dreaming. The whole scene playing out in front of him was surreal as he stood in the Lapp family’s kitchen doorway and peered into their large family room.

Wow! I will start to read Etenity Between Us next!

Mine for this week is from Shattered Memories from Debbie Lynn Costello
It is about a great earthquake in Charleston, South Carolina , August 30, 1886.

“Why can’t you have him arrested and demand our money back?” Olivia Macqueen frowned at her brother. It seemed a simple enough solution. She shuddered at the thought of once being engaged to the detestable man they now discussed.

  5. Thanks for sharing the first lines of Eternity Between Us!
A fun fact about those first lines: That second line used to be the first. =) When I showed it to a well-known author a few months back, she said I needed to move “They were here” up for more impact when it echoes a second time.
