Hello friends! Welcome to His Encouragement, a weekly dose of biblical encouragement to help get you through your week! Make sure you check out what my friends have to say too. Let’s all encourage each other!
Today, I want you to concentrate on only three little words.
It. Is. Finished.
I could be talking about so many different things here, but bible scholars will know I’m referencing what Jesus said on the cross. What exactly was Jesus referring to?
Us.
The pain, the suffering, the agonizing death was all for us. The fulfillment of prophecy was for us. The shedding of innocent, pure blood was for us. Jesus paid our debt. Jesus died so we could live. Sin can no longer have control over our lives, unless we allow it to.
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.” John 19:30
Friends if you ever have a time where sin is overwhelming, or you feel like you’ve failed God, or you are thinking of turning away from Him because you are not worthy, think on this.
It. Is. Finished.
When you’re struggling with life. When you don’t want to move on. When you think you’ve lost control.
It. Is. Finished.
Jesus paid the ultimate price for us, and honestly we are NOT worthy of His payment. But nonetheless, HE paid the price, so WE can live. My point? Don’t let sin weigh you down. Yes, confess your sins and He will forgive, but don’t dwell on them. Release them. Why?
It. Is. Finished.
What’s been on your heart this week friends? I hope you’ll share in the comments, and please don’t forget to visit my friends and see what they’re sharing this week!

I am so very thankful that Jesus gave His life so that I might one day live with Him forever!
Thanks for this wonderful reminder! For me, I need to let go of worries beyond my control that are weighing me down.
I love this post so much!!! I needed this reminder. Sometimes I get so balled up knowing I’m not good enough. ?
