His Encouragement – Trusting in the Lord

Hello friends! Welcome to His Encouragement, a weekly dose of biblical encouragement to help get you through your week! Make sure you check out what my friends have to say too. Let’s all encourage each other!

Recently I ended a bible study, and wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do with my bible reading time. I didn’t have anything queued up (so if you know of a good one, please share in comments!), so I decided to read through Psalms again. The psalms can be so refreshing and uplifting. Even through David’s worst moments in life, after he bare his heart out to God, the psalm ends on a positive note, usually with David praising the God who helps him.

“Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.” Psalm 16:1

David understood how important it was to put his trust in God, and not with just big decisions. We can trust Him with the small stuff too. He wants to hear from us. He wants us to make Him a priority in our life, and to be the first one we come to for advice. God is big enough to hear us, all of us. So tell God what’s on your heart. Be like David, and trust God for the answers – all of them. God won’t let you down friend. It’s simply not possible.

What’s been on your heart this week friends? I hope you’ll share in the comments, and please don’t forget to visit my friends and see what they’re sharing this week!

  1. It’s it amazing that God, the Creator of the universe, desires to have a relationship with us?! He doesn’t just sit back at watch to see what will happen. He’s actively involved! Oh, how I long for heaven!! To sit at His feet!! Someday soon!!

  2. So, life has been funny lately. The more I trust God’s plan for me, the more odd, bad, strange, highly frustrating stuff is happening to me. I, too, agree with Trisha. It is amazing that God wants a relationship with me. Right now, though, I feel like I have a bull’s eye on my back and the devil is playing target practice with me. The last two weeks have been insane in the testing/attacking sense of life. But, I’m going to keep on keeping on. God’s got a plan for me, and I’m trusting Him to see me through one day at a time.

  3. I feel like life has been all over the place lately. Not necessarily bad things, just busy. I feel like I’ve been looking for direction in certain areas but I haven’t stayed still long enough to actually hear God’s voice before I’m off doing something else. This is a great reminder for me to be still and listen and trust.
