I know I’ve shared about this book before, but it has a new cover that I wanted to share with you and remind you of my thoughts on the book! I love the new cover – probably because I am a nature nerd and love pictures involving any kind of nature. You can see the sun slightly shining too, and my daughter is a big fan of taking sunlight pictures. If you haven’t read this book yet, I encourage you to check it out!

About the Book

Award-winning Broadway actress Leighanne Webster has it all until an on-stage panic attack brings her career crashing to the ground. Returning to England to help produce the annual Robin Hood Festival play could be the diversion Leighanne needs. But with ex-fiance, Jamison Blake, as the play’s director, focusing on her new job won’t be easy.

Breaking his engagement with Leighanne so she could pursue her dream of being a Broadway star was the hardest thing Jamison Blake ever did. When she returns to Nottingham, his heart insists he made a mistake. Can he convince her to give their relationship another try, or will he have to let her go again? This time forever.

My Perspective

I thought this was a sweet story about rekindling old love. But what I enjoyed even more was reading about Leighanne’s journey. Here is a woman who was in the limelight, but then had it taken away from her. In a move with probably required some humility on her part, she moves back home to help her sister out and possibly runs the risk of being in the limelight again. That must have been very difficult and I enjoyed how the author showed her nervousness and weaknesses here. It made her feel more like a real character to me.

This was a quick read for me. I found myself intrigued by the subplot. Why did these mysterious people want Jamison to keep tabs on Leighanne and what was in it for them? It provided a bit of mystery that kept my interest from page to page. I also appreciated the author keeping prayer and the sharing of the gospel alive! I love seeing that in stories in a realistic way. I think it gives us all the hope that we can outwardly say things as well.

I received a complimentary copy of this book through CelebrateLit. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
