About the Book

Hope Harbor police chief Lexie Graham has plenty on her plate raising her son alone and dealing with a sudden rash of petty theft and vandalism in her coastal Oregon hometown. As a result, she has zero time for extracurricular activities–including romance. Ex-con Adam Stone isn’t looking for love either–but how ironic is it that the first woman to catch his eye is a police chief? Yet wishing for things that can never be is foolish.

Nevertheless, when Lexie enlists Adam’s help to keep a young man from falling into a life of crime, sparks begin to fly. And as they work together, it soon becomes apparent that God may have a different–and better–future planned for them than either could imagine.

My Perspective

What a wonderful story of second chances and love. A powerful message displayed throughout her entire book as well, you cannot judge a book by its cover. That as well as Gods door is always open for you to come back to Him, no matter how long you’ve been away.

Charley, taco truck man, was my favorite character. He had a subtle way of pushing people into good directions and always seemed to know what was going on. He almost felt like an angel to me, there to provide support, advice, and encouragement. And that’s just what he did. While he may not have been in a lot of scenes, he was in the book enough to make a difference and a powerful impact in the community.

Then there is the sweet story between Adam and Lexie. It seemed like they couldn’t be more different, but there was so much more to Adam than meets the eye. He had this way about him, very humble and just helping others for the sake of helping, not to get attention. And I love that Lexie saw him for what he really was, p she did not let his past define him.

If you’re looking for a sweet story this is for you. There were a few tear jerking moments, but well worth it! I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
