INTERVIEW WITH DIANE
What was the inspiration behind this book?
My grandson Reed when he was very little. He loved pointing to objects in the pictures of his books. I wanted him to have an age-appropriate Bible storybook, and I couldn’t find one with short enough text. I decided to try to create one myself and include labels in the illustrations to encourage kids to point and name the objects, animals, and people.
What’s in your current TBR pile?
Talking to Your Kids About God and Talking to Your Kids About Jesus, both by Natasha Crain. These are really useful books for anyone who wants to help others (kids or adults) learn to think critically about Christian faith.
If you weren’t an author right now, what would you be doing?
I always have thought it would be fun to be a camera person at live, televised events.
Favorite Bible verse?
I have many, but one is Psalm 78:4: “We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about his power and his mighty wonders.”
What do you want readers to gain from reading this?
I hope parents, grandparents, and caregivers will enjoy giving little ones a head start at becoming lifelong readers of the Word.
Thank you for taking the time to speak with me today!

Do you like using picture books with young ones?
Yes, we enjoy picture books but I do like to have words in them because I have no imagination to make up a story.
This looks and sounds like a wonderful book.

My nephew would enjoyed this. Thank you for sharing.
