Welcome to the second edition of Sunday Funday! And thank you to blogger Andi Tubbs for thinking of this wonderful idea! Each week a few of us bloggers will be sharing some fun facts/posts on Sundays. I hope you’ll join us!
This week’s topic is 5 of my Favorite Things. Now, we all know the obvious – Jesus, the Bible, our family, friends, and pets. This list is not going to include those – just a fun list of 5 things that I can’t live without. Ready? Here we go…..
1. Coffee
There is hardly a day where I go without coffee. And it’s nothing fancy – no Starbucks where I live. Nope, I just use a K-cup, fill my coffee travel mug and go. I do like to have flavored creamer. Right now my favorite creamer is the Peppermint flavor they have out for Christmas. Yum!
2. Peanut Butter
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love peanut butter. I could (and have) eat it right out of the jar. Crunchy is my favorite – especially Skippy’s Extra Crunchy. **excuse me while I go get some** But I don’t stop there. I like Reese’s peanut butter cups, peanut butter sauce on sundaes, peanut butter brownies, cheesecake, pretzels dipped in peanut butter. This list could pretty much go on forever. I have peanut butter every day in some way, shape or form. Yes, I’m told that I have a problem. But really I think it’s those who do not like peanut butter that have the problem!
3. Books
Come on, you knew this was going to be on here, I’m a book blogger! Yes, books are very important to me, and for so many reasons. They provide me an escape from the world. They give me friends, family, and book boyfriends (don’t tell me husband!). They make me laugh, cry, and bite my fingernails. Books are not only entertaining, but can be uplifting and inspiring. Books will always be there for me, whether in paper format, or on my kindle app. I’ll cherish them forever.
4. Hallmark Christmas Movies
I have a confession to make. It’s not even November yet, and I’ve watched some Hallmark Christmas movies, and both the preview shows. *gasp* When I tell people that, I get mixed reviews. Some people are disgusted, and some people (like my coworker) are excited and doing the same thing. Here’s the thing, I love them. I know there are better things in life to love, but hey this is my list!
Why do I love them so much? Well, first of all they are clean and something I know I would be comfortable watching around my daughter. (in case you are wondering, no she is not into them like I am, but I’ve trained my husband to be!) They are fun, romantic, and centered around my favorite time of year. I would absolutely love to take a day off in December, curl up under a blanket with some hot chocolate, and just binge on Hallmark Christmas movies. Are you with me?
5. Music
I love music. I listen to it in the car, at work, and at home. There is not one type of music specifically I listen to either, just different things for different times. The local Christian radio station is on in my car (except for Christmas time, then it is Christmas music 24/7). I listen to it at work sometimes too, or I turn on a Pandora station. Whatever I’m in the mood for. At night while falling asleep it’s classical music.
Music has always been a big part of my life. It actually calms me when I’m upset, fun when I’m happy, and a great way to worship the Lord. I sing at church with a few other ladies. We may not have a big choir, and we may not be professional, but I have a secret to tell you. All singing is a sweet sound to the Lord – even if it hurts your ear lol! Okay, we’re really not that bad, but we try our best and have fun. My life just wouldn’t be the same without music.
So there you have it. 5 of my favorite things in life, outside of Jesus and family of course. I could name so many more, but these are at the top of the list. What are some of your favorite things? I’d love for you to share!
Great list Jessica. I like a nice, hot steaming cup of tea on a cold day. I love walking in the autumn, kicking leaves, feeling the sun shine on my face. Like you, I enjoy books and music also. 🙂
I love fall. The colors, the smell, everything!
Hey Jessica, I’d binge watch Hallmark Christmas movies with you! I’ve been watching them at my house also. Did you watch the new one last night? ?
Well of course I did. Hehe. I thought it was cute!! Too bad you didn’t live closer…
Five of my fun favorite things are books, Hallmark movies (and not just the Christmas variety!), animals of all sorts, fuzzy slippers, and soft throws.
I do love their other movies too, Christmas ones just happen to be my favorite ?
Five of my favorite things are folk music (stands to reason since that was one of the reasons we moved to Mountain View, AR it’s the Folk Music Capital of the World) – slowed down life of retirement or I should say doing what we want when we want without a boss or anyone deciding for us – Diet Pepsi – reading books – baking (nothing gives me more pleasure than making someone happy eating something I baked). I do have to say though I agree with you on the Hallmark Christmas movies. I love them and look forward to new ones every year and seeing my old favorites again.
Baking is a good one, as I too am an avid baker. I love finding out how much stuff we have in common!
I love your list I was going to say Hallmark movies but I changed my mind. I LOVE the Christmas movies and Candace Cameron has a new one this year I am really excited about. Your list is a great list. I enjoyed getting to know you a little bit.
Yes I am looking forward to her new movie too. Lacey Chabert is another actress I like to watch. So many good movies!!
Jessica, I love your list! Your cute honesty is so fun! I especially like the peanut butter. 🙂
Hehe thank you!!
Coffee, books, and music make my top five!
Not sure the other 2?
Three good ones!
Fabulous list! I love Hallmark Christmas movies, too, and can’t wait for the news ones they have!
