The Newsmakers by Lis Wiehl

This was certainly unlike any book I have read before. The author kept my attention on every page, and I found myself wishing there was more time to read. If given the opportunity, I could have finished the book in an afternoon.
Erica was a strong heroine. I appreciated the fact that she stood her ground and did not totally cave into peer pressure. She has this intriguing dark past that I wish we could have seen more of. I believe it molded her into the woman she is today and that is a significant part of the story. Perhaps there will be more in future books.
I will say there were a few minor things I did not enjoy. There was a time or two the language was a tad inappropriate, as well as a few implications of activities I did not feel were appropriate. However, this was a very small part in what was a suspenseful page turner that I enjoyed tremendously. I look forward to reading what happens to Erica in the next book!
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review which I have given.
