Top Ten Tuesday – Reader Snacks

Hello my reader friends. Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Today’s topic is things you love to eat or drink while reading. Now, what I am about to tell you make shock you. In fact why don’t you sit down for this…….

I am a snacker.

Yep, you heard it here first folks. I know some of you are gasping wondering how I can snack when eating a book. I mean, what if something drops on the book, what if my fingers get dirty, or what if I sneeze and then….well ya know. That might have been too far. Sorry about that.

Well cast your fears aside – I am a clean snacker :). No books are harmed while I am snacking lol. If I’m eating something “messy”, then I eat with one hand and turn pages with the other, or I read on my kindle app. But this isn’t very often. I tend to pick easy, “cleaner” things to eat when I’m reading. Well, except for lunch. I read every day on my lunch break, but make sure my book is like a foot away from my food so there’s no chance of splatters and such. Anywhoo….on with today’s post.

Hot Cocoa Mix, Regular, 0.73 oz. Packets, 50 Packets/Box

Hot chocolate is probably my favorite thing to drink when I’m reading a good book, curled up with a blanket in a comfy spot. That’s why I love reading in fall and winter!

I love M&M’s, and I don’t discriminate. Peanut are my favorite, but I’ll munch on any of them while I’m reading.

Ritz Bits Cheese Cracker Sandwiches, 8.8 Ounce (Pack of 12)

I love these crackers. The peanut butter ones too! They are the perfect size to grab and pop in my mouth, and the best part is they are premade!

TWIZZLERS Licorice Halloween Candy, Strawberry, 5 Pound

Um…because who doesn’t like twizzlers?

Poland Spring 100% Natural Spring Water (16.9 oz. bottles, 40 pk.)

So water is my #1 go to drink. I drink it everyday, no matter what time of year.

Planters Spiced Dry Roasted Peanuts (52oz Canister, Pack of 2)

I love peanuts. In fact, sometimes I combine them with the M&Ms you saw above. Something about salt and chocolate that make this reader happy.

Orville Redenbacher’s Original Gourmet Yellow Popcorn Kernels, 30 Ounce

When I started doing Pampered Chef last summer I got this really cool microwave bowl that you can pop your own popcorn in. Ever since, I have not purchased one bag of microwave popcorn. Sometimes we make butter, sometimes kettlecorn, and other fun flavors. (don’t worry, I don’t get any on my books, promise!)

Wise Foods Golden Original Potato Chips 9.0 oz. Bag (3 Bags)

I love chips. Plain, BBQ, Sour Cream and Onion, Salt and Vinegar, Doritos (no I don’t eat those when reading), Potato Sticks, whatever basically. Now this is the snack I have to be super careful with, or just make sure I’m using my ereader 🙂

Gold & Orange Mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Candy 5LB Bag

Anyone who knows me, knows I have a slight peanut butter obsession. There’s no way I could put a picture of all the things I eat with peanut butter in them, so I just stuck with the most basic.

chocolate chip cookies, End of 'Related searches' list

I enjoy baking a lot, but not as much as I enjoy eating the items I bake! Cookies are my favorite – and I could pretty much eat any kind. Chocolate chip, peanut butter, the five hundred kinds I make at Christmas, no-bake cookies, etc etc etc…..

What’s your favorite food or drink to have while reading? Or do you prefer to snack during non-reading hours? Wait…do those even exist? 😉

  1. I adore tea. I could drink it from sun up till sun down (but I don’t). When reading, I actually don’t have a treat I care for because I typically get too absorbed in the book I forget to eat. 🤣
