About The Book

withoutwarningKatie Singleton, a partner with the Elite Guardians Protection Agency, stumbles upon her next assignment quite by accident. Spotting blue lights at a familiar restaurant, she stops to investigate, only to discover that owner Daniel Matthews has become the target of someone who will go to any lengths to put him out of business.

Daniel might be concerned, but he’s not convinced that a bodyguard–and a female one at that–is necessary. A new attack and his niece’s urgings are enough to make him reconsider. He and Katie must figure out who’s behind the intimidation and threats–before a would-be killer strikes again.

Witty dialogue and a simmering attraction will have readers flying through this tension-laced thriller. Eason exercises complete control of her readers’ emotions as they race through the pages to discover the truth.

My Review

Wow, this was such a roller coaster ride for me! I was biting my nails right up until the end! There was so much action, mystery, chaos, suspense, twists, and even a budding romance. My head was spinning trying to figure out who the mysterious killer/arsonist was! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I do not like an obvious answer, and this book gave me exactly what I was looking for. It did take me a big part of the book to figure it out and I felt like I was solving the case alongside the characters.

On top of all the thrilling action was an underlying theme about faith and trusting God. Daniel’s attitude towards God went south after his brother and sister in law died. He needed something in his life to happen to awaken him to the fact that God is in control. I loved his niece’s subtle reminders that life was okay and God would be there for him when he was ready. As much as I enjoyed the action in this book, I also liked seeing his growth spiritually.

This book had just the right balance of excitement, faith, and romance. And get ready to have a huge reading session, especially once you really get into the book. I found it extremely difficult to put down!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review which I have given.
